Hi there, it’s nice to e-meet you- I appreciate you spending time to visit my blog!
I’m a fashion and lifestyle blogger who has grown up in the DC area and loved it so much that I’ve never left! As a go-to local gal, I love anything local! My blog, TheCarlyChic.com is dedicated to showcasing my favorite things and connecting with others- from fashion finds, gift guides, local restaurants and places to travel! I’ve recently gotten into thrifting, whether that’s discovering unique items on places like Facebook Marketplace or Poshmark, and will share my finds in hopes it can inspire others. You’ll be sure to come across some of my wedding content as I was married May 2021 and just hired into Completely Coordinated as a part-time day of coordinator. Each Lead in our company has years of industry knowledge and I’m so excited to start working one wedding a month to gain experience as well as study for a certification in wedding planning to gain the technical knowledge as well. I love working at different venues around the DMV and love seeing unique details each couple incorporates for their big day- its one of my favorite parts of the job and never gets old. Last but certainly not least, I’m pregnant with our first baby and can’t wait to share my journey! Should I add a “Mommy Blogger” to my tag line? That’s coming soon! Bay Russell arrives April 2022!
Since 2019, I have served as the Washington DC Chapter Officer for The Blogger Union, where I plan monthly blogger events to help connect the local blogger community with one another and learn about different aspects of the blogging industry like contracts, working with brands, monetization, negotiating with brands, working with PR companies, you name it. I could literally do this all day and be happy- I love the community the blogging industry has in the DC area and the relationships with others I’ve been able to create over these last three years. I’m also grateful for working with so many of my favorite brands like Nordstrom, Ritz Carlton, American Eagle, LOFT, Sarah Flint NYC, It’s a 10, and so many local brands like Visit Alexandria, PAINT Arlington Nail Salon, Hazel O Hair Salon, Lucuma Boutique, Floret By Dana just to name a few.
When I’m not blogging, I enjoy spending time with my husband, window shopping at the nearest T.J.Maxx or Marshalls, visiting family or planning my next vacation. I’m always on the hunt for a good deal or the next greatest adventure!
